Is there a way to hide the URL so that a user cannot see the user & pass info in the url string?
I wrote one other post #111 however I've now identified the issue so I hope you can help me resolve this.
I'm using another Joomla plugin to change the users login Username to their email address.
When I use your plugin with the user email address and plain password it logs in fine.
When I use your plugin with the user email address AND ENCRYPTED password it does not login. If I change the user to the Username (not the email address) then it works fine.
So please can you let me know how I can change your plugin to allow the user email address with encrypted passwords for auto login?
Thanks very much for your assistance.

Could you share your code? That's exactly what I look for.
hello Plazi, send me your site url
Hi Chris, of course you can redirect to a specific page in your site, try with complete url http://......
Hi Sony,
plugin works on joomla 1.5, send me your url
Hi Tee G
I tried in a joomla 1.7.3 installation and worked for me
Thanks Paul, plugin updated 1.7.1
Andrea Parmeggiani
As the url is being specified the redirect is pointless. Just comment out lines 54..56 and leave the url parameter blank.
Plain login will then take you to the url supplied.
Amazing plugin - thanks so much Andrea.
It works perfectly for me without encryption however when I enable encryption it doesn't work. I'm pasting the password straight from the MySQL database. I'm using Joomla 1.7.3
Can you please let me know if this is a bug or recommend something to try?
Thanks for your help. Tee G
I tried all combinations, plain password, encrypted one on sql db, etc.
Chris
Thanks,
Chris
I want the plugin to take the user name and password and create an encrypted login link, that goes with the JMail Alerts News letter. Is this possible?
This will enable them to login directly to the site from the Email.

I am using joomla 1.5.23 with jomsocial 2.0.5
Thanks
I am happy to announce that joomla autologin plugin is ready for joomla 1.7 native!
Here is how to install / use this Joomla plugin:
Download the plugin from links above for your version of Joomla. For 1.7, use the 1.6 link.
When logged in as an Admin in Joomla, go to Extension Manager and add the plugin.
Go to Extensions / Plugin Manager
Look for: System-AutoLogin.
Enable and set for Public Access.
Set ordering for 0:System Autologin
Put in a URL redirect to a tested working URL.
Select Plain Text (typically).
Save and Close.
Go to a browser and put URL using an already registered joomla user info:
http://www.your_joomla_domain.com/index.php?user=XXX&passw=YYYY
You should autologin and go to the URL you set the redirect to.
Thanx for the Plugin!!!
Are you saying that with those settings that you are able to login to a Joomla 1.7 site?
I have tried...can't see it working.
Anyone else have a working 1.7?
Andrea, any plans to make this 1.7 compatible?
Thanx for the plugin, and any help anyone can provide!!!!

Thank you for the plug-in as it was just the starting point I needed to get this project finished up.
Am testing this out, so far looks promising.
In our normal login process, everyone goes to a "redirect" page upon successful login. We use Community ACL (CALC) to assign users their type and permissions - buyers, sellers, dealers, buyers only see these pages, sellers only these ones, etc. The "redirect" page looks up their CACL type and redirects them to an appropriate first page.
So, we set our redirect page as the first autologin page. It then does its magic to see what type of user they are and redirects them to the next appropriate page. Hasn't been any issue with "too many redirects" so far with the normal login process, so will assume it won't be a problem for the auto-login either.
Should be something similar that you can make for your situation and needs.
i was also trying to do
http://localhost/index.php?user=admin&passw=admin
Nothing happens ?
I have tried this on 3 test sites. I must be missing something. Does the Joomla login module show as logged in if you use autologin ?
http://www.hausproject.com/index.php?user=selfbuild&passw=mynewhouse
Nothing happens ?
Yeah sorry i wasn't as much explicit than i wanted.
In fact my goal is that user clic a link and have a full screen popup windows with my component item in.
And the link i made ( in my last comment ) did redirect to home everytime, loged in but on homepage.
Regards.
YEs but I will have a severeal links and I need every link to be directed to different page. LInk to a concrete sobi2 page looks like this"http://www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_sobi2&sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=3&sobi2Id=2&Itemid=42&lang=cs"
Can I put somewhere login information into that link so user will login and page open ?
Hello Syn,
witch kind of problem do you have?
Joomla auto login plugin doesn't interfere with html template
Regards
Hallo Dave,
i have never used sobi2 extension, but i think you can simply set the redirection field to redirect to sobi2 component after automatic login.
Bye
Seems there is a problem between "&user=''&passw=''" and tmpl=component
my url looks like :
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?user=user&passw=password&option=com_component&tmpl=component
I need link with contains login information (so user automatically login) but also I need that link automatically opens concrete sobi2 entries how can I do that ? thanks in advance for an help
Plugin ready for Joomla! 1.6!!
I tried it on new 1.6. It does't work.
There is a solution? Do you think for a new version?
Regards
Jack
Two comments:
1. Add method="upgrade" in tag in xml (i had to add it myself to upgrade from 1.1 to 1.3)
2. The should be written in description how to use this plugin (I had to go to JED to read it, after daleting my bookmark)
yes, info
I need a ftp access, it's a very strange problem...
http://www.stealthproxy.org/home/index.php?user=R4z0r&passw=entel123

Quoting Andrea Parmeggiani:
user get error
Notice: undefined variable: options in / home/my-domain/public_html/plugins/system/autologin.php on line 109
but after 1 second its take the user to the site
how to avoid this error
Thanks
I think you can have a similar url but you have to some work in your .htaccess file.
Please share with us your result ;)
Links are the same for all your users, only change parameter's values (user and password)
Thank you very much! Fixed next release ;)
can I see some example please?
Sorry no doc, even if it is not diffcoult using it, read above in this page
Bye
I think yes, but I had no tried yet, please let us know...
Thank you! use module's parameters ;)
I will consider it in next version ;)
After successful login Joomla creates sessions that dosen't need any parameter more...
any url where we can see the problem?
No, password have to mach real user password
is the password how it is stored into mysql. if your password is "god", into mysql is stored as "0a582abae1c0e34a8891319a3f26170c:9HHrXIZaRLE cYMaFi89w83eRZVbqJ5n3"
http://www.mydomain.com/user
instead
http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?user=user&passw=password
How its work?
do i need to Write the path manually or i can create for my user link and send them??
Thanks?
$options was undefined on line 217. So I added this line before it.
$options = array();
So, autologin.php now reads:
$options = array();
$result = $mainframe->triggerEvent('onLoginUser', array((array)$r esponse, $options));
How can i use this plugin, is there a doc to show how to use it.
Thanks
Only where can I configure a redirect so doesn't go to the virtuemart homepage?
Would it be possible to trigger Remember me function too?
When a user logs in with AutoLogin will be remembered by Joomla just like when you normally log in and check "Remember me"..
Thanks
Thanks
In this version it is possible to just post the username and some random password and the server will accept it and log in
Nevermind, wrote a new plugin but thanks for your efforts by helping me.
how can i make custom redirects like
http://myweb.com?user=x&passw=y&return=http://myweb.com/that.php
i did a base64encode of return=(...) but it does not work with your plugin
How to custom redirect?
thx
I usually write a php page...
Regards
It works also for registered users, check it please
Thank you,
autlogin plugin only checks username and password, if i were you i would put date control foreach user, to enable/disable them
You have to do it php side when build the link to the store, grab username and password from session and put them as query string
How do you send automatically the link to an user ?
Do you modify the com_user controller ?
However is doesn't work for just 'registered' users.
The lowest credentials that can be set are 'author'.
Can this be fixed in a next release?
I would have a new feature request
For safety reasons, I feel that it would be great if your system could detect the date at which the link was created and make it invalid after Xnumber of days (usually 30 days).
For example, a link created on the 02/02/10 returns an expired message on the 01/03/10.
